VILLAGE UNDERGROUND LAUNCHES ROOFTOP VENUE
Village Underground has announced the launch of a new rooftop event space, with its Roof Terrace set to open in late June 2026. The development marks a significant evolution for the Shoreditch venue, opening up its iconic rooftop — long recognised for its reused tube carriages — as a fully accessible event space for the first time.
The new Roof Terrace will accommodate up to 280 guests and reimagines the venue’s industrial rooftop into a striking open-air setting. Retaining the character and visual identity that has made Village Underground a cornerstone of Shoreditch’s cultural landscape for nearly 20 years, the space combines skyline views with a distinctive, creative backdrop that sets it apart from more traditional rooftop venues.
The launch reflects a broader move to diversify the venue’s offering, building on its reputation within London’s live music and arts scene while expanding into the events market with a space designed for summer parties, brand activations and corporate gatherings. The addition of an outdoor terrace also strengthens its appeal for clients seeking flexible, high-impact environments that deliver both atmosphere and authenticity.
For event organisers and clients, the Roof Terrace introduces a new East London option that blends capacity with character, offering a rare opportunity to host events within one of the city’s most recognisable and culturally established venues.
